Definition Alshraya

Alshraya according to Al-Qamus al-Fiqhi

The legal meaning (al-haqiqah al-shar'iyyah): see the root h-q-q. Ash-shari'ah: the place where camels are led down to flowing water (plural: shara'i'); the water source drunk from without payment (Hubl); the way. In the Noble Quran: 'Then We set you upon a way (shari'ah) of the command: so follow it, and do not follow the desires of those who do not know' (Al-Jathiyah, 18); what Allah, the Most High, enacted of creeds and rulings; the religion (millah) and din; the straight main course of the schools. In the word of al-Jurjani: it is donning the commitment of servitude (to Allah).
