Definition Asfa

Asfa according to Al-Qamus al-Fiqhi

Asfa someone: to be sincere with him in friendship and brotherhood; one says: asfa bi-l-widad (to devote pure love to him): to be sincere in attachment to him. Asfa someone by this: to prefer him and select him. Asfa the prince, or the like, the house of someone or his wealth: to take it in its entirety. Al-istifa: to take the essence of the thing; the choice. As-safa: smooth stones; a place in Makkah at the foot of Mount Abu Qubays. In the Noble Quran: 'Indeed Safa and Marwa are among the rites of Allah. Whoever performs the pilgrimage of the House or the 'umrah incurs no sin by traversing between them. And whoever does good voluntarily, Allah is Appreciative, Knowing' (Al-Baqarah, 158). As-safah: the broad, smooth stone (plural: sifa). As-safw: purity; the best and purest of the thing. As-safwan: the smooth rock.
