Asthq according to Al-Qamus al-Fiqhi

Istahaqqa the thing, the matter: to deserve it, to have a right to it. Istahaqqa the sin: its punishment became due upon him; hence the word of the Noble Quran: 'If it is discovered that they both deserved the sin' (Al-Ma'idah, 107). The thing is mustahiqq (due).
