Definition Astsfa

Astsfa according to Al-Qamus al-Fiqhi

Istasfa the thing: to choose it preferentially; to deem it pure (safiyyan); to take its essence (safw). Istasfa the wealth of someone: to take it in its entirety. Istafa: to prefer and choose. In the Noble Quran: 'Allah has chosen for you (istafa) the religion: so die not except as Muslims' (Al-Baqarah, 132).
