Definition Astsqa

Astsqa according to Al-Qamus al-Fiqhi

Istsqa someone, and hence: to ask him for water (for watering). In the Noble Quran: 'And when the people of Musa asked him for water (istasqahu), We inspired Musa: strike the stone with your staff, and there gushed forth from it twelve springs' (Al-A'raf, 160). Asqahu: to give him drink. Asqahu: to provide him with water or a watering; one says: he provided him with a stream of his river. Asqahu: to say to him: 'may Allah water you', or: 'a watering for you': it is an invocation in his favour.
