From someone 'bara'a, bara'a': to keep apart and dissociate from him; he is then bari' of him, that is, he dissociated from him; in the Qur'an: 'when Abraham said to his father and his people: I am innocent (bari'un) of what you worship' (az-Zukhruf, 26); it does not dual, pluralize, or take the feminine.
