📖 2 min readDa'a for a thing, in du'a, da'wah, du'a' or da'wa: to ask for it to be brought. Da'a someone: to call out to him and hail him. Da'a (Allah): to seek His aid; to incline towards Him and supplicate Him. Da'a for someone: to ask good for him. Da'a to the thing: to urge seeking it. In the Noble Quran: 'And a believing slave is better than a polytheist, even though he pleases you. Those invite to the Fire, while Allah invites to Paradise and forgiveness, by His permission, and He makes clear His signs to the people, that they may remember' (Al-Baqarah, 221). Da'a the people, in du'a', da'wah or mad'ah: to invite them to eat with him. Id-da'a: to wish, and its noun is: da'wa (claim). Id-da'a the thing: to claim it for oneself. Id-da'a someone: to have him attributed to other than his father. Id-da'a against someone this: to impute it to him and contest it with him. Isda'ahu: to call him; to demand him and require him; to ask someone to invoke (Allah) for him.
