📖 1 min readHasabah someone, in hasban: to pelt him with gravel and the like. Hasabah the place: to cover it with gravel. Hasaba through the land: to travel through it. Al-hasib: one says mak an hasib: a place strewn with gravel; the violent wind that carries dust and gravel. In the Noble Quran: 'Are you secure from Him who is in heaven that He should let loose upon you a wind of gravel? You will then know how My warning is' (Al-Mulk, 17); what the wind throws. Al-hasab: small stones, the singular being hasabah; firewood; everything cast into the fire as fuel. In the Noble Quran: 'You and what you worship besides Allah will be the fuel of Hell' (Al-Anbiya', 98). Al-hasba': small stones. Al-hasbah: al-hasba'; the pustule that appears on the skin, which is said to be smallpox.
