📖 1 min readJanna al-layl: janna, janna, jununa, jananan: it became deeply dark. It is said: janna al-zalam (the darkness thickened): it became intense. Janna the thing, or janna upon it: to cover it. In the Noble Quran: 'When the night covered him over, he saw a star' (Al-An'am, 76). Janna the deceased: to shroud him. Janna his grave: to cover it (with earth).
