Khla according to Al-Qamus al-Fiqhi

Khala the place, the vessel and the like, in khuluwa and khila': to empty it of what it contained; it is then khali'. Khala someone of the defect: to be free of it. Khala the thing: to pass away, vanish. Khala with his companion, in khilwa, khilwah, khilwa and khila': to be alone with him in private; one says: khalā bi-nafsihi (to be alone with himself), khalā ilayhi, khalā ma'ahu: to be alone. In the Noble Quran: 'And when they meet you they say: we believe; but when they are alone (khalaw) they bite their fingertips at you in rage. Say: perish in your rage! Allah knows well what is within the breasts' (Al 'Imran, 119). Khala upon the food: to confine himself to it. Khala upon him: to rely on him.
