The husband's wife's son by another (stepson); the one with whom a pact is made; property (plural arba', arba); ar-rabiba: the feminine of rabib (plural raba'ib): the husband's wife's daughter by another (stepdaughter); in the Qur'an: 'forbidden to you are... your stepdaughters (raba'ib) who are in your care, born of your wives with whom you have consummated; if you have not consummated with them, no sin upon you' (an-Nisa', 23).
