📖 1 min readShakarat the beast, in shukran, shukran or shukranan: to be content with little fodder and the like; to come upon a pasture and grow fat on it. Shakarat someone, or acknowledge him gratefully, in shukran and shukranan: to recall the favour he did one and praise him for it. In the Noble Quran: 'Eat of what Allah has provided you, lawful and good, and give thanks for the favour of Allah, if it is Him you worship' (An-Nahl, 114), and His word, the Most High: 'O you who believe! Eat of the good things We have provided you and give thanks to Allah, if it is Him you worship' (Al-Baqarah, 172). Shakarat his deed: to reward him for it. In the Noble Revelation: 'What would Allah do with your punishment if you are grateful and believe? Allah is Appreciative, Knowing' (An-Nisa', 147).
