Sjwd al-tlawa according to Mu'jam al-Mustalahat al-Fiqhiyya

As-sujud in language: a verbal noun from sajada; the root of sujud is quiet humility (at-tatamin), submission, and lowliness. Sujud in technical usage: placing the forehead or part of it on the ground or on what is attached to it of fixed, stable matter, in a specified manner. At-tilawa: a verbal noun from tala yatlu; one says 'I recited the Qur'an with tilawa' when I read it, and some applied it to all speech. Sujud at-tilawa: the prostration whose being obligatory, or recommended, is caused by reciting one of the verses of prostration; said to be eleven, or fourteen, or fifteen; see the books of fiqh.
