Thanaya according to Mu'jam al-Mustalahat al-Fiqhiyya

Plural of thaniyya, the col; the poet said: « I am son of glory and cols’ summit: when I set the turban, you know me », meaning the pure lord, scaling summits; at-tala’: the lofty mound, elevation, ascent. Thaniyya also a tooth, plural thanaya, thanayat, four in mouth. Ath-thani: camel entering sixth year; the she-camel thaniyya. Ath-thani also the second-cast, of tusks and hooves third year, hooves sixth, after the jadh’; plural thana’ kasra, lengthening, thaniyan, as righif, righfan. A-thanaytou: casting his second tooth, he thanin, fa’il in fa’il’s sense. Some literati versified thani: « thani son of two years, son of weakness, son of five of tusks and hooves ».
