Al-tmwyh according to At-Tawqif (Al-Munawi)

Adornment; one says: the speech was embellished (muwwiha 'alayhi), made adornment and brightness till accepted, from mawwaha the iron: one plated it with gold water that it be thought gold; then it became a proverb for every falsification; and it is a taf'il of al-ma', mentioned by some.
