📖 1 min readAshraka someone in his affair: to bring him into it. In the Quran: 'Appoint for me a vizier from my family, Harun, my brother. Strengthen my back by him, and associate him (ashrikhu) in my affair' (Ta-Ha, 29-32). Ashraka someone with Allah: to give Him a partner in His dominion. In the Noble Book: 'And when Luqman said to his son, while admonishing him: O my son, do not associate anything with Allah: indeed association (shirk) is a tremendous injustice' (Luqman, 13). He is then mushrik. Sharakahu: to be his partner. One says: so-and-so shares (yushariku) in such knowledge: he has a portion of it.
