Definition Dm aljbran

Dm aljbran according to Al-Qamus al-Fiqhi

With the Shafi'is: what repairs the deficiency occurring in the hajj, such as omitting the night stay, the stoning, or entering ihram from the miqat, whether the deficiency is a forbidden act or the omission of a duty. Al-jabarut: omnipotence. Jibril: the noble angel, God's messenger to His human messengers, God's prayers and peace upon them. Several linguistic forms of it are reported, cited by at-Tabari and Ibn al-Anbari and others, among them Jibril and Jibrin; it is a Syriac name composed of two words: jabr, meaning servant, and il, meaning God Most High; it was also said to be Arabic, derived from God's might (jabarut), which is excluded by the agreement that it is indeclinable. The hafiz Ibn Hajar said: though Syriac, it accords in meaning with the Arabs' language, for jabr is repairing what is broken, and Jibril is charged with the revelation through which general repair comes about. Al-jabira: what binds the broken bone (plural jaba'ir); al-Azhari said: the jaba'ir are pieces of wood made even, placed upon the fracture site and bound until the bone is restored straight. With the jurists: applied to what is used to bind ulcers, wounds, and bones, treated alike in rulings (an-Najafi).
