Definition Hmlt

Hmlt according to Al-Qamus al-Fiqhi

Hamalat the woman, in hamlan: she became pregnant; she is then hamil or hamilah, the first being the more common and the more classical. Hamalat the tree: to bring forth its fruit. Hamalat the Quran and the like: to memorize it and act by it. In the Noble Revelation: 'The likeness of those who were charged with the Torah and then did not carry it is as the likeness of the donkey carrying books' (Al-Jumu'ah, 5), that is: they were charged with fulfilling its rights and did not carry it. Hamalat upon herself in walking: to exert her effort in it. Hamala him, or of him, in himalah: to maintain him and stand surety for him; he is then hamil and hamil. Carrying (haml) on the back of a mount, in hamlan or himlan: to lift it and place it thereon; it is then mahmul and hamil. Ihtamala: to carry. Hamala what came from someone: to pardon him and pass over (his fault) in silence.
