📖 2 min readSuch a one, in the forms qa diyan, qa d an and qa diyya: to judge and decide. One says: he judged between the two litigants, he judged for him, he decided such a matter. In the Quran: [al-Zumar, 75: 'And judgement was given between them with truth, and it was said: praise to Allah, Lord of the worlds.'], that is: he decided. Allah the Most High: to command. In the Quran: [al-Isra', 23: 'Your Lord has decreed that you worship none but Him, and do good to parents.']. Prayer, pilgrimage and debt: to perform them. In the glorious Book: [al-Jumu'a, 10: 'And when the prayer is performed, disperse in the land and seek the bounty of Allah, and remember Allah much, that you may prosper.'], that is: you have performed the Friday prayer. The thing: to decree it and accomplish it. His need: to attain and fulfil it. His term: to reach the term fixed for him. His natural end: to die. In the mighty Book: [al-Ahzab, 23: 'Some of them have fulfilled their vow.']. Against him: to kill him. Ist qda such a one: to make him a judge.
