📖 1 min read'Taba': to return; tawba and mata ba: to turn back from disobedience; he is then ta'ib (repentant), and tawwab. 'God taba upon His servant': to grant him repentance; God is tawwab, the servant ta'ib; in the Qur'an: 'God is the Accepter of repentance (at-Tawwab), the Merciful' (at-Tawba, 118). To pass over and pardon; in the Qur'an: 'that God may punish the hypocrites, men and women, and the polytheists, men and women, and that God may turn (yatuba) to the believers, men and women; God is Forgiving, Merciful' (al-Ahzab, 73).
