Definition Tshft

Tshft according to Al-Qamus al-Fiqhi

Tasahhafat the word or the page: to change into error. At-tashif: altering the word until the intended meaning changes; reading the thing contrary to what its writer intended, or otherwise than what has been conventionally agreed. As-sahfah: a dish like a bowl (plural: sahafif). As-sahafi: one who takes his knowledge from the book, not from a master. As-sahifah: what is written on paper and the like (plural: suhuf, saha'if); what is written in the page. Al-mashaf: a variant of mushaf, the damm vowel of the mim being the more common. Al-mushaf: a collection of pages bound in a volume; its usage became dominant for the Noble Quran. The designation of the Quran as mushaf arose in the time of Abu Bakr as-Siddiq (may Allah be pleased with him) (plural: masahif). According to the Ibadis: any copy of the Quran, complete or not, even a single sheet. Al-mishaf: the mushaf, the damm vowel of the mim being the more common.
