بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمَـٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ

Verse 1 - Surah An-Naazi'aat: 2 words

وَٱلنَّـٰزِعَـٰتِ غَرْقًۭا

By those [angels] who extract with violence

وَٱلنَّـٰزِعَـٰتِ wal-nāziʿāti By those who extract
غَرْقًۭا gharqan violently

Verse 2 - Surah An-Naazi'aat: 2 words

وَٱلنَّـٰشِطَـٰتِ نَشْطًۭا

And [by] those who remove with ease

وَٱلنَّـٰشِطَـٰتِ wal-nāshiṭāti And those who draw out
نَشْطًۭا nashṭan gently

Verse 3 - Surah An-Naazi'aat: 2 words

وَٱلسَّـٰبِحَـٰتِ سَبْحًۭا

And [by] those who glide [as if] swimming

وَٱلسَّـٰبِحَـٰتِ wal-sābiḥāti And those who glide
سَبْحًۭا sabḥan swimming

Verse 4 - Surah An-Naazi'aat: 2 words

فَٱلسَّـٰبِقَـٰتِ سَبْقًۭا

And those who race each other in a race

فَٱلسَّـٰبِقَـٰتِ fal-sābiqāti And those who race each other
سَبْقًۭا sabqan (in) a race

Verse 5 - Surah An-Naazi'aat: 2 words

فَٱلْمُدَبِّرَٰتِ أَمْرًۭا

And those who arrange [each] matter,

فَٱلْمُدَبِّرَٰتِ fal-mudabirāti And those who arrange
أَمْرًۭا amran (the) matter

Verse 6 - Surah An-Naazi'aat: 3 words

يَوْمَ تَرْجُفُ ٱلرَّاجِفَةُ

On the Day the blast [of the Horn] will convulse [creation],

يَوْمَ yawma (The) Day
تَرْجُفُ tarjufu will quake
ٱلرَّاجِفَةُ l-rājifatu the quaking one

Verse 7 - Surah An-Naazi'aat: 2 words

تَتْبَعُهَا ٱلرَّادِفَةُ

There will follow it the subsequent [one].

تَتْبَعُهَا tatbaʿuhā Follows it
ٱلرَّادِفَةُ l-rādifatu the subsequent

Verse 8 - Surah An-Naazi'aat: 3 words

قُلُوبٌۭ يَوْمَئِذٍۢ وَاجِفَةٌ

Hearts, that Day, will tremble,

قُلُوبٌۭ qulūbun Hearts
يَوْمَئِذٍۢ yawma-idhin that Day
وَاجِفَةٌ wājifatun will palpitate

Verse 9 - Surah An-Naazi'aat: 2 words

أَبْصَـٰرُهَا خَـٰشِعَةٌۭ

Their eyes humbled.

أَبْصَـٰرُهَا abṣāruhā Their eyes
خَـٰشِعَةٌۭ khāshiʿatun humbled

Verse 10 - Surah An-Naazi'aat: 5 words

يَقُولُونَ أَءِنَّا لَمَرْدُودُونَ فِى ٱلْحَافِرَةِ

They are [presently] saying, "Will we indeed be returned to [our] former state [of life]?

يَقُولُونَ yaqūlūna They say
أَءِنَّا a-innā Will we
لَمَرْدُودُونَ lamardūdūna indeed be returned
فِى fī to
ٱلْحَافِرَةِ l-ḥāfirati the former state

Verse 11 - Surah An-Naazi'aat: 4 words

أَءِذَا كُنَّا عِظَـٰمًۭا نَّخِرَةًۭ

Even if we should be decayed bones?

أَءِذَا a-idhā What! When
كُنَّا kunnā we are
عِظَـٰمًۭا ʿiẓāman bones
نَّخِرَةًۭ nakhiratan decayed

Verse 12 - Surah An-Naazi'aat: 5 words

قَالُوا۟ تِلْكَ إِذًۭا كَرَّةٌ خَاسِرَةٌۭ

They say, "That, then, would be a losing return."

قَالُوا۟ qālū They say
تِلْكَ til'ka This
إِذًۭا idhan then
كَرَّةٌ karratun (would be) a return
خَاسِرَةٌۭ khāsiratun losing

Verse 13 - Surah An-Naazi'aat: 4 words

فَإِنَّمَا هِىَ زَجْرَةٌۭ وَٰحِدَةٌۭ

Indeed, it will be but one shout,

فَإِنَّمَا fa-innamā Then only
هِىَ hiya it
زَجْرَةٌۭ zajratun (will be) a shout
وَٰحِدَةٌۭ wāḥidatun single

Verse 14 - Surah An-Naazi'aat: 3 words

فَإِذَا هُم بِٱلسَّاهِرَةِ

And suddenly they will be [alert] upon the earth's surface.

فَإِذَا fa-idhā And behold
هُم hum They
بِٱلسَّاهِرَةِ bil-sāhirati (will be) awakened

Verse 15 - Surah An-Naazi'aat: 4 words

هَلْ أَتَىٰكَ حَدِيثُ مُوسَىٰٓ

Has there reached you the story of Moses? -

هَلْ hal Has
أَتَىٰكَ atāka (there) come to you
حَدِيثُ ḥadīthu (the) story
مُوسَىٰٓ mūsā (of) Musa

Verse 16 - Surah An-Naazi'aat: 6 words

إِذْ نَادَىٰهُ رَبُّهُۥ بِٱلْوَادِ ٱلْمُقَدَّسِ طُوًى

When his Lord called to him in the sacred valley of Tuwa,

إِذْ idh When
نَادَىٰهُ nādāhu called him
رَبُّهُۥ rabbuhu his Lord
بِٱلْوَادِ bil-wādi in the valley
ٱلْمُقَدَّسِ l-muqadasi the sacred
طُوًى ṭuwan (of) Tuwa

Verse 17 - Surah An-Naazi'aat: 5 words

ٱذْهَبْ إِلَىٰ فِرْعَوْنَ إِنَّهُۥ طَغَىٰ

"Go to Pharaoh. Indeed, he has transgressed.

ٱذْهَبْ idh'hab Go
إِلَىٰ ilā to
فِرْعَوْنَ fir'ʿawna Firaun
إِنَّهُۥ innahu Indeed, he
طَغَىٰ ṭaghā (has) transgressed

Verse 18 - Surah An-Naazi'aat: 6 words

فَقُلْ هَل لَّكَ إِلَىٰٓ أَن تَزَكَّىٰ

And say to him, 'Would you [be willing to] purify yourself

فَقُلْ faqul And say
هَل hal Would
لَّكَ laka [for] you
إِلَىٰٓ ilā [to]
أَن an [that]
تَزَكَّىٰ tazakkā purify yourself

Verse 19 - Surah An-Naazi'aat: 4 words

وَأَهْدِيَكَ إِلَىٰ رَبِّكَ فَتَخْشَىٰ

And let me guide you to your Lord so you would fear [Him]?'"

وَأَهْدِيَكَ wa-ahdiyaka And I will guide you
إِلَىٰ ilā to
رَبِّكَ rabbika your Lord
فَتَخْشَىٰ fatakhshā so you would fear

Verse 20 - Surah An-Naazi'aat: 3 words

فَأَرَىٰهُ ٱلْـَٔايَةَ ٱلْكُبْرَىٰ

And he showed him the greatest sign,

فَأَرَىٰهُ fa-arāhu Then he showed him
ٱلْـَٔايَةَ l-āyata the sign
ٱلْكُبْرَىٰ l-kub'rā the great

Verse 21 - Surah An-Naazi'aat: 2 words

فَكَذَّبَ وَعَصَىٰ

But Pharaoh denied and disobeyed.

فَكَذَّبَ fakadhaba But he denied
وَعَصَىٰ waʿaṣā and disobeyed

Verse 22 - Surah An-Naazi'aat: 3 words

ثُمَّ أَدْبَرَ يَسْعَىٰ

Then he turned his back, striving.

ثُمَّ thumma Then
أَدْبَرَ adbara he turned his back
يَسْعَىٰ yasʿā striving

Verse 23 - Surah An-Naazi'aat: 2 words

فَحَشَرَ فَنَادَىٰ

And he gathered [his people] and called out

فَحَشَرَ faḥashara And he gathered
فَنَادَىٰ fanādā and called out

Verse 24 - Surah An-Naazi'aat: 4 words

فَقَالَ أَنَا۠ رَبُّكُمُ ٱلْأَعْلَىٰ

And said, "I am your most exalted lord."

فَقَالَ faqāla Then he said
أَنَا۠ anā I am
رَبُّكُمُ rabbukumu your Lord
ٱلْأَعْلَىٰ l-aʿlā the Most High

Verse 25 - Surah An-Naazi'aat: 5 words

فَأَخَذَهُ ٱللَّهُ نَكَالَ ٱلْـَٔاخِرَةِ وَٱلْأُولَىٰٓ

So Allah seized him in exemplary punishment for the last and the first [transgression].

فَأَخَذَهُ fa-akhadhahu So seized him
ٱللَّهُ l-lahu Allah
نَكَالَ nakāla (with) an exemplary punishment
ٱلْـَٔاخِرَةِ l-ākhirati (for) the last
وَٱلْأُولَىٰٓ wal-ūlā and the first

Verse 26 - Surah An-Naazi'aat: 6 words

إِنَّ فِى ذَٰلِكَ لَعِبْرَةًۭ لِّمَن يَخْشَىٰٓ

Indeed in that is a warning for whoever would fear [Allah].

إِنَّ inna Indeed
فِى fī in
ذَٰلِكَ dhālika that
لَعِبْرَةًۭ laʿib'ratan surely (is) a lesson
لِّمَن liman for whoever
يَخْشَىٰٓ yakhshā fears

Verse 27 - Surah An-Naazi'aat: 6 words

ءَأَنتُمْ أَشَدُّ خَلْقًا أَمِ ٱلسَّمَآءُ ۚ بَنَىٰهَا

Are you a more difficult creation or is the heaven? Allah constructed it.

ءَأَنتُمْ a-antum Are you
أَشَدُّ ashaddu a more difficult
خَلْقًا khalqan creation
أَمِ ami or
ٱلسَّمَآءُ ۚ l-samāu the heaven
بَنَىٰهَا banāhā He constructed it

Verse 28 - Surah An-Naazi'aat: 3 words

رَفَعَ سَمْكَهَا فَسَوَّىٰهَا

He raised its ceiling and proportioned it.

رَفَعَ rafaʿa He raised
سَمْكَهَا samkahā its ceiling
فَسَوَّىٰهَا fasawwāhā and proportioned it

Verse 29 - Surah An-Naazi'aat: 4 words

وَأَغْطَشَ لَيْلَهَا وَأَخْرَجَ ضُحَىٰهَا

And He darkened its night and extracted its brightness.

وَأَغْطَشَ wa-aghṭasha And He darkened
لَيْلَهَا laylahā its night
وَأَخْرَجَ wa-akhraja and brought out
ضُحَىٰهَا ḍuḥāhā its brightness

Verse 30 - Surah An-Naazi'aat: 4 words

وَٱلْأَرْضَ بَعْدَ ذَٰلِكَ دَحَىٰهَآ

And after that He spread the earth.

وَٱلْأَرْضَ wal-arḍa And the earth
بَعْدَ baʿda after
ذَٰلِكَ dhālika that
دَحَىٰهَآ daḥāhā He spread it

Verse 31 - Surah An-Naazi'aat: 4 words

أَخْرَجَ مِنْهَا مَآءَهَا وَمَرْعَىٰهَا

He extracted from it its water and its pasture,

أَخْرَجَ akhraja He brought forth
مِنْهَا min'hā from it
مَآءَهَا māahā its water
وَمَرْعَىٰهَا wamarʿāhā and its pasture

Verse 32 - Surah An-Naazi'aat: 2 words

وَٱلْجِبَالَ أَرْسَىٰهَا

And the mountains He set firmly

وَٱلْجِبَالَ wal-jibāla And the mountains
أَرْسَىٰهَا arsāhā He made them firm

Verse 33 - Surah An-Naazi'aat: 3 words

مَتَـٰعًۭا لَّكُمْ وَلِأَنْعَـٰمِكُمْ

As provision for you and your grazing livestock.

مَتَـٰعًۭا matāʿan (As) a provision
لَّكُمْ lakum for you
وَلِأَنْعَـٰمِكُمْ wali-anʿāmikum and for your cattle

Verse 34 - Surah An-Naazi'aat: 4 words

فَإِذَا جَآءَتِ ٱلطَّآمَّةُ ٱلْكُبْرَىٰ

But when there comes the greatest Overwhelming Calamity -

فَإِذَا fa-idhā But when
جَآءَتِ jāati comes
ٱلطَّآمَّةُ l-ṭāmatu the Overwhelming Calamity
ٱلْكُبْرَىٰ l-kub'rā the great

Verse 35 - Surah An-Naazi'aat: 5 words

يَوْمَ يَتَذَكَّرُ ٱلْإِنسَـٰنُ مَا سَعَىٰ

The Day when man will remember that for which he strove,

يَوْمَ yawma (The) Day
يَتَذَكَّرُ yatadhakkaru will remember
ٱلْإِنسَـٰنُ l-insānu man
مَا mā what
سَعَىٰ saʿā he strove (for)

Verse 36 - Surah An-Naazi'aat: 4 words

وَبُرِّزَتِ ٱلْجَحِيمُ لِمَن يَرَىٰ

And Hellfire will be exposed for [all] those who see -

وَبُرِّزَتِ waburrizati And will be made manifest
ٱلْجَحِيمُ l-jaḥīmu the Hellfire
لِمَن liman to (him) who
يَرَىٰ yarā sees

Verse 37 - Surah An-Naazi'aat: 3 words

فَأَمَّا مَن طَغَىٰ

So as for he who transgressed

فَأَمَّا fa-ammā Then as for
مَن man (him) who
طَغَىٰ ṭaghā transgressed

Verse 38 - Surah An-Naazi'aat: 3 words

وَءَاثَرَ ٱلْحَيَوٰةَ ٱلدُّنْيَا

And preferred the life of the world,

وَءَاثَرَ waāthara And preferred
ٱلْحَيَوٰةَ l-ḥayata the life
ٱلدُّنْيَا l-dun'yā (of) the world

Verse 39 - Surah An-Naazi'aat: 4 words

فَإِنَّ ٱلْجَحِيمَ هِىَ ٱلْمَأْوَىٰ

Then indeed, Hellfire will be [his] refuge.

فَإِنَّ fa-inna Then indeed
ٱلْجَحِيمَ l-jaḥīma the Hellfire
هِىَ hiya it
ٱلْمَأْوَىٰ l-mawā (is) the refuge

Verse 40 - Surah An-Naazi'aat: 9 words

وَأَمَّا مَنْ خَافَ مَقَامَ رَبِّهِۦ وَنَهَى ٱلنَّفْسَ عَنِ ٱلْهَوَىٰ

But as for he who feared the position of his Lord and prevented the soul from [unlawful] inclination,

وَأَمَّا wa-ammā But as for
مَنْ man (him) who
خَافَ khāfa feared
مَقَامَ maqāma standing
رَبِّهِۦ rabbihi (before) his Lord
وَنَهَى wanahā and restrained
ٱلنَّفْسَ l-nafsa his soul
عَنِ ʿani from
ٱلْهَوَىٰ l-hawā the vain desires

Verse 41 - Surah An-Naazi'aat: 4 words

فَإِنَّ ٱلْجَنَّةَ هِىَ ٱلْمَأْوَىٰ

Then indeed, Paradise will be [his] refuge.

فَإِنَّ fa-inna Then indeed
ٱلْجَنَّةَ l-janata Paradise
هِىَ hiya it (is)
ٱلْمَأْوَىٰ l-mawā the refuge

Verse 42 - Surah An-Naazi'aat: 5 words

يَسْـَٔلُونَكَ عَنِ ٱلسَّاعَةِ أَيَّانَ مُرْسَىٰهَا

They ask you, [O Muhammad], about the Hour: when is its arrival?

يَسْـَٔلُونَكَ yasalūnaka They ask you
عَنِ ʿani about
ٱلسَّاعَةِ l-sāʿati the Hour
أَيَّانَ ayyāna when
مُرْسَىٰهَا mur'sāhā (is) its arrival

Verse 43 - Surah An-Naazi'aat: 4 words

فِيمَ أَنتَ مِن ذِكْرَىٰهَآ

In what [position] are you that you should mention it?

فِيمَ fīma In what
أَنتَ anta (are) you
مِن min [of]
ذِكْرَىٰهَآ dhik'rāhā (to) mention it

Verse 44 - Surah An-Naazi'aat: 3 words

إِلَىٰ رَبِّكَ مُنتَهَىٰهَآ

To your Lord is its finality.

إِلَىٰ ilā To
رَبِّكَ rabbika your Lord
مُنتَهَىٰهَآ muntahāhā (is) its finality

Verse 45 - Surah An-Naazi'aat: 5 words

إِنَّمَآ أَنتَ مُنذِرُ مَن يَخْشَىٰهَا

You are only a warner for those who fear it.

إِنَّمَآ innamā Only
أَنتَ anta you
مُنذِرُ mundhiru (are) a warner
مَن man (for him) who
يَخْشَىٰهَا yakhshāhā fears it

Verse 46 - Surah An-Naazi'aat: 9 words

كَأَنَّهُمْ يَوْمَ يَرَوْنَهَا لَمْ يَلْبَثُوٓا۟ إِلَّا عَشِيَّةً أَوْ ضُحَىٰهَا

It will be, on the Day they see it, as though they had not remained [in the world] except for an afternoon or a morning thereof.

كَأَنَّهُمْ ka-annahum As though they
يَوْمَ yawma (the) Day
يَرَوْنَهَا yarawnahā they see it
لَمْ lam not
يَلْبَثُوٓا۟ yalbathū they had remained
إِلَّا illā except
عَشِيَّةً ʿashiyyatan an evening
أَوْ aw or
ضُحَىٰهَا ḍuḥāhā a morning thereof

إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ وَمَلَٰٓئِكَتَهُۥ يُصَلُّونَ عَلَى ٱلنَّبِىِّ ۚ يَٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ صَلُّوا۟ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلِّمُوا۟ تَسْلِيمًا

God and His angels shower their blessings on the Prophet. O believers, you should also send your blessings on him, and salute him with a worthy greeting.

Al-Ahzab 33:56

Blessings on the Prophet ﷺ
