This first part gathers the fiqh rules on looking (nazar) and touching (lams): what a suitor may look at of his intended bride, the conditions attached to this look, prohibited touching, sending a woman to inspect the bride, then looking at the unrelated woman, at the old or veiled woman, handshaking, a woman looking at a man, looking at mahram relatives, and a man looking at another man. The positions of the four schools are cited with their classical references.

إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ وَمَلَٰٓئِكَتَهُۥ يُصَلُّونَ عَلَى ٱلنَّبِىِّ ۚ يَٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ صَلُّوا۟ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلِّمُوا۟ تَسْلِيمًا

God and His angels shower their blessings on the Prophet. O believers, you should also send your blessings on him, and salute him with a worthy greeting.
