Buka according to Dustur al-'Ulama (Al-Ahmadnagari)

Abundant, coming of grief sometimes and joy sometimes; the difference between them is two things: the state, and the tear: the grief’s tear hot, joy’s cold, as will come under tear. Weeping has wondrous effect in the invocation’s answering and the Creator’s regard, sublime His import, by generosity, mercy and tenderness. Certes the poet’s word hit the mark.

Buka according to Mu'jam al-Mustalahat al-Fiqhiyya

With lengthening: the tear’s flowing from grief; verbal noun of « he wept - weeps - wept - weeping ». In the Lisan: weeping shortens and lengthens. Al-Farra and others: lengthened, you intend the sound with weeping; shortened, the tears and their issue. Ka’b ibn Malik said in his elegy of Hamza: « my eye wept, and it has right to weep her; weeping neither keening enriches ». Al-Khalil said: who shortens aims grief’s sense, who lengthens the sound’s. At-tabaki: affecting weeping, as in the hadith: « if you weep not, then affect weeping ».

Buka according to At-Tawqif (Al-Munawi)

With lengthening, the tear’s flowing from grief. Said: lengthening if sound predominates, shortening if grief.
