Such a one his family, and for them, in the forms yamanan and maymana: to be a blessing upon them. Allah such a one, in the form yamanan: to make him blessed; he is then maymun. Such a one upon his family and for them, in the forms yamanan and maymana: to be an omen. Such a one, in the form yamanan: to come to him upon his right. Such a one, in the form taymanan: to take his course to the right. To come to the Yemen. Al-ayman: the right side. Aymunu Allah: a usage of the oath, plural of yamin; according to most of the grammarians its hamza is a connective hamza, and no other noun comes with an open connective hamza; with the Kufans it is a severing hamza. They sometimes omit its nun, saying aymu Allah, with opening or closing of the hamza; sometimes they keep the mi alone, saying mu Allah; and sometimes they say minu Allah, min Allah and min Allah. Al-maymana: the right side. Al-yumna: the opposite of the left, for the direction and the limb. Al-yamin: the opposite of the left, for the direction and the limb, and it is feminine. (plural) ayman, aymun and ayamin. Strength. The religion and the faith. In the Quran: [al-Saffat, 28: 'They said: you used to come to us from the right.'], that is: you used to come to us from the side of religion, adorning our error. Blessing. The covenant. In the Quran: [al-Tawba, 12: 'And if they break their oaths after their covenant and assail your religion, then fight the leaders of unbelief: surely they have no oaths, that they may desist.']. The oath. In the glorious Book: [al-Ma'ida, 89: 'Allah will not take you to task for the frivolity in your oaths, but He will take you to task for what your hearts have earned of oaths. Its expiation is the feeding of ten needy men with the average of what you feed your families, or the clothing of them, or the freeing of a slave; but whoso cannot find it, the fasting of three days: that is the expiation of your oaths when you have sworn. And keep your oaths: thus Allah makes clear to you His signs, that you may give thanks.']. According to the Law: a firm contract by which the swearer has resolved upon an act or an omission. (al-Tamartashi). With the jurists it includes also the conditional oath: the tying of the occurrence of one matter to the occurrence of the content of another. (Ibn Abidin).
