Main themes of the surah في سورة Al-Buruj

And since it might have occurred to them that He, in His glory, might have neglected to treat them due to their tormenting of those who believed in Him for the sake of their faith, He negated this notion by describing Himself with attributes that affirm the necessity of worshiping Him alone. He said, {Al-'Aziz}, meaning the One who overpowers whoever He wills and is not overpowered by anything. Thus, one should not think it possible for those under His care to be weakened, but rather He tests them to increase the rewards of the righteous and to severely punish His enemies, thereby exacting great vengeance upon them. {Al-Hamid}, meaning the One who encompasses all perfect attributes, thus He rewards those who are afflicted for His sake with the greatest reward and exacts vengeance upon those who harm Him with the most severe punishment. He reaffirmed this by saying, {To whom belongs}, specifically {the kingdom of the heavens and the earth}, meaning in a general sense, absolutely. Everything within them is worthy of being worshiped alone, without associating anything with Him. Since He, in His glory, had previously warned using the witness and the witnessed, and that the disbelievers are witnesses against themselves, He increased the warning by stating that He, in His glory, is the greatest witness on that Day and beyond. He does not need anyone else, but He proceeded in a manner to which we are accustomed, saying: {And Allah}, the Great King, who has complete encompassment {is Witness over everything}, meaning this action and others. {Witness}, meaning the most perfect witness, from whom nothing is hidden, and nothing exists or remains except by His planning. One who possesses such great attributes would never neglect His allies, but rather, it is necessary that

Similarly, He took His enemies and saved His allies, thus the conclusion reverted to the beginning, and the introduction was connected to the end. This necessitates the purification of the Speaker (God) from leaving anything, let alone lives, without protection, and from everything that is unbecoming. It also necessitates affirming perfection and completeness for Him in every way - and God knows what is correct, to Him is the return and the refuge, and to Him is the escape and the recourse.

By the sky containing great stars

And [by] the promised Day

And [by] the witness and what is witnessed,

Cursed were the companions of the trench

[Containing] the fire full of fuel,

When they were sitting near it

And they, to what they were doing against the believers, were witnesses.

And they resented them not except because they believed in Allah, the Exalted in Might, the Praiseworthy,

To whom belongs the dominion of the heavens and the earth. And Allah, over all things, is Witness.

Indeed, those who have tortured the believing men and believing women and then have not repented will have the punishment of Hell, and they will have the punishment of the Burning Fire.

Indeed, those who have believed and done righteous deeds will have gardens beneath which rivers flow. That is the great attainment.

Indeed, the vengeance of your Lord is severe.

Indeed, it is He who originates [creation] and repeats.

And He is the Forgiving, the Affectionate,

Honorable Owner of the Throne,

Effecter of what He intends.

Has there reached you the story of the soldiers -

[Those of] Pharaoh and Thamud?

But they who disbelieve are in [persistent] denial,

While Allah encompasses them from behind.

But this is an honored Qur'an

[Inscribed] in a Preserved Slate.
