Anis ibn Marthad

B: Anis ibn Marthad ibn Abu Marthad al-Ghanawi, and it is said: Anas, and the first is more.

He said Abu 'Umar, and we have mentioned him in Anas, and we have mentioned his genealogy there.

He said Abu 'Umar: He was known as Abu Yazid, and some said: He was an Ansari by a pledge that he had among them in his opinion, and it was not true, and he was a pledge of Hamza ibn 'Abd al-Muttalib, and his genealogy was from Ghani ibn 'A'asar, and he accompanied him, and his father Marthad, and his grandfather Abu Marthad was the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, and his father was killed on the day of Raji' in the lifetime of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, and his grandfather died in the caliphate of Abu Bakr al-Siddiq.

Anis witnessed this with the Prophet the conquest of Mecca, and with Hunayn, and the Prophet ﷺ used to look at him on the day of Hunayn with his eyes, and it is said: He was the one who said to him the Messenger of Allah ﷺ: 'Go to this woman, and if she confesses, then stone her.'

It was said: He was between him and his father Marthad ibn Abu Marthad for twenty-one years.

Anis died in Rabi' I in the tenth year.

He was narrated from by al-Hakam ibn Musa, from the Prophet in the Fitnah.

He was mentioned by Abu 'Umar.

It was said: That the Prophet ﷺ ordered him to stone the Aslamite woman was Anis ibn al-Dhahak al-Aslami, and it is not similar to the truth, due to the many narrators of it, and because the Prophet ﷺ used to intend that he would not order a tribe with an order except for a man from it, due to the aversion of the Arabs from being judged by one from another tribe, so he would gather them with that.

And Abu Ahmad al-'Askari mentioned him in the Ansar, and he said: Anis ibn Abu Marthad al-Ansari, and he narrated to him the Hadith of the Fitnah, that the Prophet ﷺ said: 'There will be a deaf, dumb, and blind Fitnah among you.'

And this is not from the Ansar in anything.
