Biography of Ayman ibn Khuraym

Aymen b. Khuraym b. Fatik b. al-Akhrim b. Shaddad b. Amr b. al-Fatik b. al-Qalib b. Amr b. Asad b. Khuzayma al-Asadi and his mother al-Sama' bint Tha'labah b. Amr b. Hisham b. Malik al-Asadi. He converted to Islam on the day of the conquest, and he was a young boy. He narrated from his father and his uncle, both of whom were Badriyyun.

Some said: Aymen b. Khuraym converted to Islam with his father on the day of the conquest.

Abu 'Umar said: The correct account is that his father witnessed the Battle of Badr, and he was originally from Sham. He settled in Kufa.

He was narrated from: Shu'ba, Fatik b. Fadala, and Abu Ishaq al-Sabi'i.

Ahmad b. Mani' narrated to us, Marwan b. Mu'awiya narrated to us, Sufyan narrated to us, from Ziyad al-Asadi, from Fatik b. Dalla, from Aymen b. Khuraym, that the Prophet ﷺ said: 'O people, the testimony of falsehood is more deserving of being rejected than the association of partners with Allah.' Then he recited: 'Avoid the impurities of idols and avoid the speech of falsehood.'

Ahmad b. 'Ali b. al-Muthanna narrated to us, Zhamwiyya narrated to us, Salih b. 'Umar narrated to us, from Matraf, from 'Amir, who was known as al-Shu'bi, that when Marwan b. al-Hakam fought against al-Dhahhak b. Qays, he sent to Aymen b. Khuraym: 'We want you to fight with us.'

He said: My father and my uncle witnessed the Battle of Badr, and they had agreed with me that I would not fight anyone who testifies that there is no god but Allah. If you bring me a certificate of immunity from the Fire, I will fight with you.'

He said: Go, and he went, and he was killed, and he was cursed.

He began to say:

And I am not a fighter against a man who prays...

On the authority of another Sultan from Quraysh

He has authority over me, and I have a defect...

May Allah protect me from foolishness and recklessness

The Darqutni said: Aymen narrated from the Prophet ﷺ, but I did not find any narration from him except from his father and his uncle.

It was narrated by the three (Ibn Manda, Abū Nuʿaym, Ibn ʿAbd al-Barr).
