Biography of al-Aswad ibn Khuzay'
d ': Al-Aswad ibn Khuzayi, and it was said: Khuzayi ibn al-Aswad al-Aslami.
He was one of the allies of Banu Salmah from the Ansar, and one of those who killed Ibn Abi al-Haqiq.
Abu Ja'far 'Ubayd Allah ibn Ahmad informed us, with his chain of narration to Yunus ibn Bukayr, from Ibn Ishaq, who said: Al-Zuhri reported to me from 'Abd Allah ibn Ka'b ibn Malik in the story of the killing of Abu Rafi' the Jew, who said: When the Aws killed Ka'b ibn al-Ashraf, the Khazraj remembered a man who was like him in enmity towards the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, and they mentioned Abu Rafi' ibn Abi al-Haqiq in Khaybar, so they asked the Messenger of Allah ﷺ for permission to kill him, and he gave them permission. 'Abd Allah ibn 'Atik, 'Abd Allah ibn Unays, Mas'ud ibn Sinan, and Al-Aswad ibn Khuzayi, who was an ally of theirs from Aslam, set out to him.
It was reported from 'Ata' ibn Yasir, from Abu Rafi', that the Prophet ﷺ, when he besieged Khaybar and ordered 'Ali to fight them, said: A man from Madhij from Khaybar emerged, and Al-Aswad ibn Khuzayi emerged to him, and Al-Aswad killed him and took his spoils.
Reported by Ibn Mandah and Abu Nu'aym.
