Biography of As-Sa'ib ibn Abi Lababah
As-Sa'ib ibn Abi al-Lubabah ibn Abd al-Mundhir was born during the era of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. We have mentioned his father, and there is a difference in his name.
Ibrahim ibn al-Mundhir said: As-Sa'ib ibn Abi al-Lubabah ibn Abd al-Mundhir was born during the era of the Messenger of Allah, and he was known as Abu Abd al-Rahman. He narrated from Umar ﵁, Sahl ibn Sa'd said: When As-Sa'ib ibn Abi al-Lubabah was born, he was brought to the Prophet.
The Zuhri narrated from Husayn ibn As-Sa'ib ibn Abi al-Lubabah from his father, who said: When Allah forgave Abu al-Lubabah, he said: I came to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and said, 'O Messenger of Allah, I have abandoned the house of my people where I committed a sin, and I have given all my wealth in charity.' He said: 'O Abu al-Lubabah, you will be rewarded with one-third.'
So he accepted the one-third.
It was narrated by the three (Ibn Manda, Abū Nuʿaym, Ibn ʿAbd al-Barr).
