Biography of Janadah ibn Abi Umayyah
Dhahabi: Jandal ibn Abi Umayyah said: And the name of Abi Umayyah is big, he met the Prophet ﷺ but his companionship is not valid.
He said: And Muhammad ibn Ismail said: The name of Abi Umayyah is many, he died in the year sixty-seven.
Abu Abdullah al-Sanabih reported that Jandal ibn Abi Umayyah was the leader of a group, so when he stood up for prayer, he turned to his right, and said: Do you accept? They said: Yes, then he turned to his left, and said: I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say: Whoever leads a group of people who dislike him, his prayer will not rise above his level.
This is the saying of Ibn Manda.
And Abu Naim said when he mentioned: He is, in my view, Jandal ibn Abi Umayyah al-Azdi who was mentioned earlier, some of the later narrators differed between them, and I consider them one, and mentioned the hadith: Whoever leads a group of people who dislike him …
As for Abu Umar, his saying: that the name of his father is big, he said it in the first translation, and did not mention this translation, it indicates that he considered them one.
It was narrated by Ibn Manda, and Abu Naim.
