Biography of Harmalah ibn Zayd al-Ansari
Dhahabi: Harmala b. Zayd al-Ansari, one of the Banu Haritha, narrated from Abdullah b. Umar, who said: I was sitting with the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) when Harmala b. Zayd al-Ansari, one of the Banu Haritha, came to him and sat in front of him, and said: O Messenger of Allah, faith is here, and he pointed to his tongue, and hypocrisy is here, and he placed his hand on his chest, and we do not mention Allah except a little, so the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) was silent and repeated that Harmala, so the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) took Harmala's tongue, and said: O Allah, make his tongue truthful, and his heart grateful, and provide him with love and the love of those who love you, and make his affair good, so Harmala said to him: O Messenger of Allah, I have hypocrite brothers, and I was their leader, shall I inform you of them? So the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said: Whoever comes to us as you came to us, we will ask forgiveness for him, as we ask forgiveness for you, and whoever insists on that, then Allah is more deserving of him, and do not expose the secret of anyone.
It was narrated by Ibn Mandah, and Abu Nuaim.
