Sa'd Abu 'Abd Allah

D'Arabia: Sa'd Abu 'Abd Allah, it is said, was the son of Al-Athul.

We have mentioned him, it is said: he was not him, Abu Naim said: and the authentic one in my opinion is that he was the son of Al-Athul, some later scholars have written a biography for him, meaning Ibn Mandah, and he has narrated a hadith that was narrated by Ibn Al-Athul as an example, Wasi' ibn 'Abd Allah ibn Badr Abu Al-Husayn Al-Qashiri narrated to me, 'Abd Allah ibn Badr ibn Wasi' ibn 'Abd Allah ibn Sa'd ibn Khalid Al-Qurashi said: 'Abd Allah ibn Sa'd would go out to his companions, when he arrived in Tustar he would stay there for three days, they would say to him: why don't you stay longer? he would say: I heard my father say, he said: the Messenger of Allah forbade us from settling in the land of taxation for three days, so whoever stays there for three days will be lost to us.

So Ibn Mandah has narrated it like this, Abu Naim said: from Wasi' ibn 'Abd Allah ibn Badr, he narrated to me my father 'Abd Allah ibn Wasi' ibn 'Abd Allah ibn Sa'd Al-Athul said: 'Abd Allah ibn Sa'd would go out to his companions.

He has mentioned something similar, so based on what Abu Naim has mentioned about the lineage of Wasi' ibn 'Abd Allah ibn Al-Athul, it is as he said, and Allah knows best.
