Salamah ibn Aslam

Salama ibn Aslam ibn Harish ibn Adi ibn Majdah ibn Haritha ibn al-Harith ibn al-Khazraj ibn Amr ibn Malik ibn al-Aws al-Ansari al-Awsi al-Harithi is known as Abu Sa'd. He witnessed the Battle of Badr and all the other battles with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. He was killed on the Day of the Bridge of Abu Ubayd, in the fourteenth year, at the age of thirty-eight, and it is said: he was martyred, at the age of sixty-six, it is said: he was the one who captured al-Sa'ib ibn Ubayd and al-Nu'man ibn Amr on the Day of Badr. This is all mentioned by Abu Hatim al-Razi, who said it was said by Abu 'Umar.

And Ibn Mandah said, and Abu Na'im: Salama ibn Salama al-Ashhali, witnessed the Battle of Badr, but his narrations are not known, and he narrated from Ibn Ishaq about those who witnessed the Battle of Badr from the Aws, from the Banu 'Abd al-Ashhal: Salama ibn Aslam ibn Harish ibn Adi ibn Majdah ibn Haritha ibn al-Harith.

The three mentioned him, his existence was mentioned by Abu Na'im by saying: he was a client of theirs.

And as for Ibn Mandah, he did not mention the clientage, nor is it necessary, because the sequence of the lineage indicates it, since he is not from the Banu 'Abd al-Ashhal, but rather from the children of Haritha ibn al-Harith ibn al-Khazraj, and 'Abd al-Ashhal is the son of Jashm ibn al-Harith ibn al-Khazraj, so Jashm, the father of 'Abd al-Ashhal, is the brother of Haritha ibn al-Harith, and Allah knows best.

He was mentioned by Ibn Ishaq in the Banu 'Abd al-Ashhal, and he said: from the narration of Ziyad ibn 'Abd Allah al-Bakai, and Salama ibn al-Fadl, and Ibrahim ibn Sa'd, all of them from him: he was a client of the Banu 'Abd al-Ashhal, from the Banu Haritha ibn al-Harith, and as for the narration of Yunus ibn Bukayr, he did not mention that he was a client.

And Ibn Mandah brought the narration of Yunus, so he did not mention that he was a client.
