Samurah ibn Habib

Sumrah ibn Habib ibn Abd Shams al-Qurashi al-Umawi, the father of Abd al-Rahman ibn Sumrah, was mentioned by Abu Bakr ibn Dasa as having converted to Islam. He was appointed by Uthman ibn Affan, as stated by Ibn al-Dabbaagh al-Andalusi, which was corroborated by Abu Umar.

However, the correct account is that his son was the one who converted to Islam, and he was appointed as the governor of Sistan during the time of Uthman. God knows best.
