Suwayd ibn an-Nu'man

Suwayd ibn al-Nu'man ibn Malik ibn Amir ibn Majdah ibn Jushm ibn Haritha ibn al-Harith ibn al-Khazraj ibn Amr ibn Malik ibn al-Aws al-Ansari al-Awsi al-Harithi.

He witnessed the Battle of Uhud and all subsequent battles with the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) considered him to be from the people of Medina.

We were informed by Mismar ibn Amr ibn al-'Uways Abu Bakr and Abu 'Abd Allah Muhammad ibn Muhammad ibn Saraya ibn Ali, and others, through their chain of transmission to Abu 'Abd Allah Muhammad ibn Ismail al-Ju'fi, who informed us 'Abd Allah ibn Yusuf, who informed us Malik, from Yahya ibn Sa'id al-Ansari, from Bashir ibn Yasar, from Suwayd ibn al-Nu'man, who informed him: 'That he went out with the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) in the year of the Battle of Khaybar, where he performed the 'Asr prayer, then called for the food, but only vinegar was brought, so he ordered it to be served, and the Messenger of Allah ate, and we ate with him, then he stood up for the Maghrib prayer, performed ablution, and we performed ablution, then he prayed without performing wudu.'
