Shaybah ibn Abi Kathir

Ibn Sa'd: Shibah ibn Abi Kuthur al-Ashja'i.

He was mentioned by Sa'id al-Qurashi, al-Tabarani, and others among the Companions, and Sa'id said: I do not see any companionship for him.

Al-Waqidi narrated from Muhammad ibn Umar, from Shumayl ibn Umar ibn Waqid, from Umar ibn Shibah ibn Abi Kuthur al-Ashja'i, from his father, who said: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'The juice of the grape is a source of good deeds, which spread from it.'

It was said: Al-Waqidi alone narrated it, from his brother Shumayl.
